NEVADA STUDENT BARBER
Student Barbers must complete 1,500 hours of Barber School to become eligible for an Apprentice Barber Examination. Completed school hours from states other than Nevada will count towards the required hours, pending verification of hours and transcripts.
Please note: Due to data discrepancies found, there are three schools that The Nevada State Barbers' Health and Sanitation Board has voted to no longer recognize in the United States. The schools are Arizona Barber Styling College (AZ), American Barber School (CA), Beyond Institute and Career Center (FL).NEVADA BARBER INSTRUCTOR
Barber Instructors must have three years of licensure as a Registered Barber in Nevada. In addition, 600 hours of instructor training is also required prior to being eligible for the Instructor Examination.
NEVADA APPRENTICE BARBER
Apprentice Barbers have completed 1,500 hours of Barber School and passed the Apprentice Examination. Apprentice Barbers must work alongside a Registered Barber.
After working for 18 months as an Apprentice Barber, you become eligible and must take the Registered Barber Examination.
Restrictions: Apprentice Barbers may not work independently.
NEVADA REGISTERED BARBER
Registered Barbers have completed 18 months of work as a Nevada Apprentice Barber and passed the Registered Barber Examination.
Restrictions: None - Registered Barbers are eligible to work independently.
